This Tuesday, May 8th, THE GOSSIP are playing at Berghain. The Shade resident KATE BOSS will open for them with a special DJ set while you kids wait for the sweaty gorgeous show to start. Then later, we all celebrate together at Loftus Hall in an aftershow party, with the special presences of Nathan from The Gossip playing records wit ANIKA (Stones Throw) and also DJ sets by MARIUS FUNK and Kate Boss.

When Saints Go Machine are a Copenhagen-based quartet who delivered a gorgeous concert at Berghain last night. They first came to our attention when they released their outstanding remix for Planningtorock´s “Living it out” last year, one of the best remixes we have heard in a while. They are Nicholas Manuel Vonsild, Jonas Kenton, Silas Moldenhawer and Simon Muschinsky, really good musicians with the power to send you spacecadetting above. Nick´s voice and lyrics are truly a gift. If you havent heard them yet, give yourself this present today. This Wednesday, we have the pleasure of hosting a concert by DEARLING PHYSIQUE. Arriving as what MTV Iggy deemed “a new pop iconoclast,” Dearling Physique’s bold and exuberant debut full-length album “Deadeye Dealer” found a diverse audience captivated by its cinematic and synthesia-inducing sound. The universal acclaim that followed helped earn the band such recognition as Metromix’s “Artist To Watch” and MTV Iggy’s “Artist of the Week.” Dearling Physique’s stunning music video for the single “Discipline Your Hands” also received high praise, with favorable mentions from OUT Magazine, Afro Punk and The Onion.
The music on the dancefloor will be conducted by German producer ULI BUDER better known as AKIA.

Uli Buder is a German producer who performs under the moniker Akia. He was born in Hoyerswerda, then East Germany, in 1986, and grew up in Rostock, on the shores of the Baltic Sea. It was there, after having trouble finding musically like-minded partners for a band, that he started working solo as Akia, producing his first tracks on a Korg Electribe EMX 1, under the initial influence of such producers as Console, Apparat and Micronaut. German minimalism in contemporary electronic music would remain one of his most important influences, next to his interest in dub. This mixture of minimal techno and dub can be felt on the tracks above, all produced this year. Also working as a digital, graphic and video artist, Uli Buder has been living and working in Berlin since 2007. After performing live a few times at our previous encarnation, he has been a resident DJ at SHADE since 2010.
Next week, on April 25th, he will once again be DJing at Flamingo.
